My brothers and sisters,
If we were to ask, what do you want the most in life, some of you may say I want health some of
you may say I'm looking for financial stability some may say that I'm facing a personal challenge
in my life and I'm
looking for solutions to that challenge. and then the follow-up question that I would ask would
be; what if Allah gave you what you wanted, if Allah gave you money, give your best health, ease
your problems, fix the challenges that you were facing, what would that bring you, the answer
would be “happiness”. Ultimately no matter what we're looking for, end of the day its happiness
that we all are looking for.
My brothers and sisters, the reality is that Allah has created happiness as a by-product of
sacrifice, Allah has made happiness a byproduct of hard work, Allah has made happiness a
byproduct of consistency. It’s the rule for this duniya, that you work in your job throughout
weeks and then you will get your pay-check, or you will work on your business, and after some
time you will get your reward. You have to be to consistent and hardworking to get the right
results. Same principle applies to the akhirah. In this duniya, we have to work day and night for
the cause of ALLAH SWT, pray 5 daily prayers, fast in the month of Ramadhan, pay zakah
annually, perform Hajj, be good to your parents, your family, earn Halal rizq throughout your life.
ALLAH SWT says in surah Huud for the ones who are successful:
And those who are blessed, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein for all the time that
the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills, a gift without an end.
This doesn’t mean that there is no happiness in this Dunya. there is happiness in this Dunya
but we have to understand that every single good that we experience in life it is very temporary
and likewise every single
challenge that we face in this Dunya is also very temporary. The happiness in dunia is person
who experiences wisdom, peace, justice, or other worldly happiness, physical happiness in life
such as Allah has given them health strength and beauty, wealth, status etc
ALLAH SWT says:
Allâh calls to the Home of peace (i.e. Paradise, by accepting Allâh's religion and
by doing righteous good deeds and abstaining from evil deeds) and guides whom He
wills to a Straight Path.
For those who have done good is the best (reward, i.e. Paradise) and even more (i.e.
having the honour of glancing at the Countenance of Allâh swt) Neither darkness nor
dust nor any humiliating disgrace shall cover their faces. They are the dwellers of
Paradise, they will stay therein forever.
We ask ALLAH SWT grant us true happiness in this life and the everlasting next life.
