Dear brothers in faith,
Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever prays at the nights of Ramadan (which means taraweeh) out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven .
Ramadan is a month in which the doors of paradise are opened and the doors of hell are closed. It is narrated in both Bukhari and Muslim that the messenger Sal ALLAHu alaihi wasallam said: Every act by the son of Adam will be rewarded between 10 and 700 fold, except fasting, for Fasting, Allah said it is for ME and I shall reward for it. He who gave up his desires his food and his drink for my sake there are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast and the other at the time when he will meet ALLAH subhan ahu wa taala .
We shall know that fasting was ordained so that we get beautified with piety and for us to deprive our bodies from what Allah has prohibited therefore we are to abstain from all taboos like fraud, oppression, cheating, depriving rights of others, looking at haraam and listening to songs because listening to songs reduces the reward of a fasting person. Ramadan is an institution of curbing lust and desires. Ramadan is a month for us to understand the reality of fasting, learning its etiquettes and its provisions, spend its days at night with pious deeds, guard your fasting from shortages and bad habits, renew your repentance to ALLAH subhan ahu wa taa’la , and ask ALLAH to overlook our sins and count us among those he gives mercy and those that he saves from Hellfire.
