إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ ,نَحْمَدُهُ ,وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ , وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا ,مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ , وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ , وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَباَرِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلىَ آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْماً كَثِيْراً
My brothers and sisters,
It is mentioned in Hadees, that whenever our Rasool ALLAH SAW would find difficulty in any affair, He would turn towards Salah.
Salah is the most important pillar of Islam after the shahadatein.
It is the first duty ordained upon every messenger from Adam to Muhammad SAW. Allah told Prophet Musa AS,
إِنَّنِىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۟ فَٱعۡبُدۡنِى وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِڪۡرِىٓ
Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. (Taha 20:14)
When Ibrahim AS was building the Ka’bah, ONLY him and his son Ismail AS building the Ka’bah brick-by-brick understanding that this house that they are building shall become the sanctuary, a holy place for all Believers, they made a special dua at that moment. Imagine their feeling, imagine what they were undergoing carrying out this big task that Allah had commanded them to do.
What was this Du’a? It is recorded in the Qur’an and one phrase in this Du’a is so important that every single Muslim needs to know it and learn about it. While they are building the Ka’bah, him and his son Isma’il, he says
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِىۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ (٤٠)
Ibrahim ‘Alayhis Salaam says: “O my Rabb make ME amongst those who establish the Salah, me and my children, Our Lord, and accept my supplication.” (Surah Ibrahim verse 40)
The famous story of Eesa AS when he spoke as a new born baby,
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَٮٰنِىَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّ۬ا
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيۡنَ مَا ڪُنتُ وَأَوۡصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّڪَوٰةِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَيًّ۬
[Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and ALLAH has commanded upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive
My brothers and sisters
Salah is the most important ibadah and commandment of ALLAH SWT. He gave many other ihkaam to our Prophet SAW through Jibrael,
But this commandment of Salah, one pillar of Islam, that Allah Subhanhu Wa Ta’ala Wills that instead of sending down the angel to the Prophet SAWW, He calls the Prophet up to Himself!. The Rasul sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was brought up so that Allah SWT could speak to him directly, without any intermediaries, without an angel in the middle, on the blessed night of Israa and Mairaj. On this night, ALLAH SWT gave this gift of Salah to our Prophet SAW
O Muslims, the importance of the prayer cannot be overemphasized! So many are the aayaat, so many are the ahadeeth. We must realized that Rasool Sal-Allahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam said that on the Day of Judgement the 1st thing that will be asked will be the prayer? If it is in order, then everything else will be in order; but if it is not in order, then everything else will be in disorder.
I pray that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala makes us understand this simple yet important aspect of Islam, that He grants us the Tawfeeq to pray 5 times a day .

أَقُولُ مَا تَسْمَعُونَ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ لِي وَلَكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
2nd Khutba
اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ عَلىَ اِحْسَانِهِ وَالشُّكْرُ لَهُ عَلىَ تَوْفِيْقِهِ وَاِمْتِنَانِهِ. وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ تعظيماً لشأنِ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ الدَّاعِى اِلىَ رِضْوَانِهِ.
Dear Muslims, do not underestimate the importance of salah. We will mention one incident in the life of the Prophet Sal-Allahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam that illustrates how he felt about the salah, The day our Prophet SAW was in the last moments of his life, knowing that he only had a few moments to live, knowing that the last words that he will say will be recorded as the last Wasiyya, the last Testament, as the last advice that he gave, Sal-Allahu ‘Alayhi Wa Sallam. What do you think he said in his last breath?
He said “As-salaah, as-salaah! Wat-taqullaha fee ma malakat aymaanukum.”
The last wasiyya that he gave, to make sure his Ummah knows what to do: “As-salaah!” Which is translated as, “Guard the prayer, guard the prayer; he remind us to pray to Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.
