إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ ,نَحْمَدُهُ ,وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ , وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا ,مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ , وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ , وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَباَرِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلىَ آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْماً كَثِيْراً
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ (١)
لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ وَأَنزَلۡنَا ٱلۡحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأۡسٌ۬ شَدِيدٌ۬ وَمَنَـٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ ۥ وَرُسُلَهُ ۥ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ۬ (٢٥) وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحً۬ا وَإِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلۡڪِتَـٰبَۖ فَمِنۡہُم مُّهۡتَدٍ۬ۖ وَڪَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ فَـٰسِقُونَ (٢٦) ثُمَّ قَفَّيۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيۡنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُ ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأۡفَةً۬ وَرَحۡمَةً۬ وَرَهۡبَانِيَّةً ٱبۡتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبۡنَـٰهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ رِضۡوَٲنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوۡهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَاۖ فَـَٔاتَيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۡہُمۡ أَجۡرَهُمۡۖ وَكَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ فَـٰسِقُونَ
Surat al Hadeed
We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might. (25) And We have already sent Noah and Abraham and placed in their descendants prophethood and scripture; and among them is he who is guided, but many of them are defiantly disobedient. (26) Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
My brothers and sisters,
When ALLAH is talking to Jewish and Christian people, its beneficial to know their history to get the background of why ALLAH is talking to them or about them, its important for us to understand the context of the ayaat. In Biblical books, there is mention of Noor , light when referring to creation of the heaven and earth. Surah al Hadeed is an interesting example because in this surah, there is multiple mentions of Noor, as light bringing people from darkness to light, and ALLAH himself is Noor.
لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ
We have sent our prophets with open signs and evidences, these are ahkamatt of ALLAH SWT which is light for the humanity, and on top of that, ALLAH sent the books, and also taught them to be just among each other in their affairs. So the purpose of sending the books and the prophets is to create justice among people.
In the end of biblical books, its mentioned about the prophets Nooh and Ibrahim AS. Also in these ayaat, ALLAH mentions we sent the prophets Nooh and Ibrahim, and in their progeny I have sent prophethood and sent many books.
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحً۬ا وَإِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلۡڪِتَـٰبَ
And in the progeny of Ibrahim AS, ALLAH sent the Prophet Eesa AS, gave him Injeel, the Bible.
ثُمَّ قَفَّيۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيۡنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُ ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ
And because of us sending the holy book, we placed in the hearts of the followers, compassion and Rahmah for other people, they became soft hearted people.
My brothers and sisters, we are given he book that is kalam ALLAH, and its preserved by ALLAH SWT, and it is the book that is guideline for all humanity to come. It is the book affirms the previous prophets, and their books, explains the teachings of other prophets and gives us the light that guides us to come closer to ALLAH SWT, to his Prophet SAW and to reach our final destination in Jannah.
May ALLAH SWT make it easy for us to get the guidance from the Quran, make its Halal as Halal, and Haram as Haram.
