We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to bless our Prophet (SAW) and all his companions (0:10) and we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to bless every single one of us. (0:14) We thank Allah for giving us another opportunity to meet (0:20) in order to go through some of the reminders that he has placed in the Quran
In surah al-araf, Allah makes mention of a discussion (0:53) of the people of paradise with the people of hell. And in this discussion, Allah is using the past tense which means this is as good as done. (1:04) Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says – the people of heaven called out to the people of hell while they are burning in the fire of hell, they say ‘we have found what Allah has promised us to be true. (1:47) We are sitting in so much goodness.’ We have whatever we wish. What about you people? Have you found what Allah promised you to be true?
AndWhat was the response? (2:02) They said yes, we did. We found it to be true.
(2:15) So a caller from amongst them called out. May the curse of Allah be upon the oppressors. (2:24) May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala not make us from the oppressors.
(2:27) And sometime later, a few verses down the line, (2:31) Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala mentions about another call. (2:35) This time it was the other way around. It is about the people who are bubbling in the hellfire.
(2:42) When I say bubbling, the bubbling is made mention of in various ahadith (2:47) of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. (2:50) And the condition of the skin is made mention of in the Quran. (2:54) That the people burning in hellfire, (3:08) Every time their skins are burnt, (3:12) They will be renewed in order that they may taste the punishment afresh.
(3:18) May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala protect us. (3:21) The hadith speaks about how they will be so thirsty, they won’t have anything to drink. (3:38) There will be heat, there will be fire, they will be burning. (3:43) And Allah says, (4:02) The people of hellfire in that condition (4:06) will scream out to the people of heaven.
(4:09) And they will say, (4:10) Please, can you pour on us a little bit of water? (4:15) Or any liquid that you have, just pour it on us. (4:19) And the people of heaven will respond, (4:31) Allah has prohibited anything of that nature (4:34) for those who disbelieved, for those who denied, (4:38) for those who turned away.
(5:01) May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala protect us. (5:05) So immediately one might ask, (5:07) What do we do to protect ourselves from this?
0:02) My brothers and sisters, when you make haste towards seeking the forgiveness of Allah, you have tried to develop a relationship with Allah. (0:11) So, every time you sin, immediately turn to Allah. The question (0:17) might be, how often? As often as possible, even if it were to be up to a hundred times a day.
(0:25) What if I repeated the same sin after seeking the forgiveness of Allah? The answer is, ask again. Allah’s love for you is beyond your imagination, Allah said:
As for My punishment, I bring it upon whomever I will, yet My mercy encompasses all things. I will decree it for those who were righteous and gave in charity, those who had faith in Our signs
Now What are the four conditions of seeking forgiveness? Number (1:36) one, admit your sin to yourself, between you and Allah. Number two, regret it, that’s also between (1:44) you and Allah.
Number three, seek forgiveness, that’s also between you and Allah. Number four, (1:50) promise not to do it again, that’s also between you and Allah. Once those four conditions are met, (1:55) you don’t need to involve a third party, not an imam, not a leader, not a person, no one.
